RIAU PROVINCE BATIK





The patterns and motifs of batik riau produced mostly themed plants, never encounter Batik Tabir type that describes an animal or human life.
Patterns and motives include Flower Cape, Bungo Kesumbo, Flower Cempaka, and Sunflower Layered Flower. 39 motifs
Every motif in batik riau also has a deep philosophy or meaning.

For example, Tampuk Manggis which has the philosophy about the Malay children who are clever in covering shame, rejecting shame, and has soft tongue. A woman wearing a Lingga Fan with a motif of young moon leaves expresses that she is still a girl or a teenager. While those who already married will wear full moon motifs. Then the motif of kasih tak sampai has a philosophy to not give too much love to anyone because one day the one sided love will hurt her deeply
