CENTRAL SULAWESI PROVINCE BATIK

Central Sulawesi also has batik with its own distinctive features. The name of batik is called Batik Bomba. Interestingly, Bomba, which means openness and togetherness is illustrating the community of Palu people, who open to anyone who comes and visit this area.

The motif of Bomba batik coveys clove flower, sambulugana (package of plants such as areca nut and siri), traditional house (souraja), marijuana, maleo bird motif, creeping flower motif, resplang motif, ventilation motif, custom carving motif Kaili, motive lekatu and many more.

For example like lekatu motif is inspired from the existence of lekatu tree, located in Kelurahan tavanjuka, Tatanga sub-district Palu city.

Batik is the Traditional Fabric of Indonesia. Batik cloth made using this technique originated from Indonesia. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of  the resist with a spouted tool called a or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a cap.
